Role Description
Green School Bali is a progressive, dynamic and wall-less Pre-K to Grade 12 educational institution, located in the lush jungle of Bali, Indonesia that features a number of innovative sustainable practices, including solar and micro-hydro renewable energy projects that are taking the school off the grid.
We’re excited to offer you to join our team as Accountant & Tax Specialist. If you are a skilled, qualified accountant who is familiar with the accounting field and has extensive knowledge of tax regulations and laws, please read below to discover current vacancies and opportunities. To be competitive for this role this special person fulfils the following requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and laws.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Leverage knowledge of IT to optimize accounting and tax-related processes.
- Utilize accounting software and technology tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Position Criteria
- Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles and processes
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Proactive, highly motivated and flexible
- Ability to multitasking (prioritizing, organizing, and shifting focus when needed)
- Experienced with Ms. Office and Google Workspace
- Organized and high attention to detail;
- Can work independently or collaboratively with the team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualification/ Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 4-5 years of experience in accounting or tax.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and tax principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or MS D365
- Familiarity with IT and technology tools, such as Excel, SQL, or data analytics software.
